Trinity Leeds Gridshell Roof Structures

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This 3700m2 roof in eight parts with spans up to 50m provides a unifying cover to the new retail development in Leeds. The roof is long span, lightweight, transparent, geometrically demanding and with varying support conditions. Considerable emphasis is placed on the integration of the structure, cladding systems and lighting to achieve a well-coordinated solution. The roof is also designed to be easily and safely maintained through its life.

The structural engineers have produced an efficient and clean design that exceeds the client’s expectations. The optimisation and stability analysis of the complete roof together with the careful detailing of the supports demonstrates their great skills in this field.
