The London 2012 Velodrome is an outstanding example of structural engineering at its best and a worthy winner of the Institution’s Supreme Award 2011.The Velodrome will serve as a key structural and architectural venue during the London 2012 Olympics, delivering a world-class building and track which encompass beauty, sustainability, value and functionality.Described by quadruple Gold Medal winner Sir Chris Hoy as “magnificent, better even than it looked on the drawing board”, the venue is a testament to the success of the client, design team and main contractor collaboration and has been delivered on time and on budget.
